Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state on Tuesday Declared open 2days workshop on Audit Accountability Dialogue and
Robust audit practices play a pivotal role in holding government entities accountable, enhanced public trust, and ultimately
driving the socio-economic development of the Yobe State.
Governor Buni, who was represented by Secretary to the Yobe State Government Baba Malam Wali, said this while declaring opened a 2 day workshop on Audit Engagement Forum and Accountability Dialogue organized by office of the State Auditor General Yobe State in collaboration with PARADIGM LEADERSHIP SUPPORT INITIATIVE (PLSI) in SUMMIT Hotel Damaturu.
Governor Buni said that "an Institution bestowed with the statutory responsibility to present a true and fair view on the affairs of the Government of Yobe State, I am very optimistic to inform this gathering that Yobe-Supreme Audit
Institution is to diligently carry out their responsibilities in accordance with internationally recognized auditing standards.
Distinguished invited guests, today's forum offers an opportunity for you to engage in robust discussions on various topics, including an understanding of the roles of the State Audit Office in public accountability, functions of Public Accounts Committee (PAC), civic participation and the public audit practices in Yobe State".
He further said, "We are hoping to carefully curate a program that comprises insightful presentations
panel discussions and interactive sessions, designed to foster knowledge
sharing, promote innovation, and ignite fresh perspectives that would come-up with positive recommendations for the betterment of our dear State"
He therefore express gratitude to the
Paradigm Leadership Support Initiative (PLSI) for their invaluable collaboration in organizing the event, adding that their expertise and support have been instrumental in ensuring the success of the forum.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Yobe State Auditor General Alhaji Mai Adamu Gulani said that, the primary objective of the workshop is to collaborate with various
stakeholders particularly the Civil Societies group and other professional
organizations to consider some issues raised in the report of the Auditor General
in terms of materiality and substance with a view to express an opinion for a better assurance results.
He maintained that Yobe
State Supreme Audit Institution (SAl) under the present administration of Mai Mala Buni, has tremendously recorded many achievements which attracted a lot of recognition, appreciations and commendations from various stakeholders nationally and internationally.
He added that this position has further strengthened the capacity and qualified Yobe State to benefit from all sought of supports at Federal level as well as International Donor.
