YOBE:YSU GOVERNING COUNCIL VISITS BUNI, PLEADS FOR MORE SUPPORT

Yobe state University Governing Council has visited Governor, Mai Mala Buni, to update him on the state of affairs of the University and request for more intervention to the institution.


The visit which was led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University Governing Council, Ahmed Mustapha Goniri, Esq., centred on areas that will improve the lives of students, staff, University Community and the standard of the institution.


The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Mala Mohammed Daura, disclosed that the Council appealed to the Governor to intervene on the recommendations of the MDCN accreditation for College of Medical Sciences; Construction of BioRTC Mega Laboratory; additional hostels accommodation for  students and support to hold the 2nd combined convocation ceremony.


The other requests made are payment of Earned Allowance for academic and non-academic staff;  upward review of monthly subventions to the University,  shuttle bus services from Damaturu town to the University, among others.


The Vice-Chancellor further revealed that the Governor whom he said was impressed with the University's commitments, said the  request will be thoroughly looked into with a view to addressing them.
