To this end, Governments at various levels activated series of interventions with a view to cushion the hardship faced by the masses as a result of the floods.

In Yobe, the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) remained the coordinating body of such interventions.

The Federal Government, through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), initiated an intervention programme called "Special National Economic Livelihood Emergency Intervention" (SNELEI) which identified and assessed the victims of the 2022 flood disaster across the country for onward action.

officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and

members of the humanitarian community who are in the state for the programme.

supporting the long-term recovery of Nigeria from the 2022 flood

disaster and the drive for the sustainable socio-economic recovery of the

country from the current challenges of oil subsidy withdrawal and high

rate of inflation

He described the intervention as timely pointing out that the relief package contains

food items, livelihood support materials such as improved seeds and

stools which will go a long way in closing the gaps created by subsidy

removal thereby boosting the 2022 flood disaster-affected households’
