Governor of Yobe State Mai Mala Buni on Tuesday has inaugurated committee on palliatives to work out stretagic to cushion the effect of petrol subsidy removal.
The inauguration ceremony which took place at the Government House Damaturu.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Idi Barde Gubana said in order to cushion the effect of the situation and in line with the present Administration's people- oriented policy of promoting the wellbeing of the entire Yobe state citizenry.
Buni further approved the constitution of the committee under his chairmanship with his able Deputy Governor as Deputy chairman and other members.
He enjoin all members to of the committee to handle the assignment with fear of Allah and fairness as demanded by such duties.
The Governor equally urged the members to strive harder to ensure that the under- privileged and the vulnerable persons are widely reached out to.
The Governor urged people of the state to give maximum cooperation to the Committee for the Government to achieve its objectives of alleviating the suffering of Yobe state Citizenry under the present predicament.

10- Representative of CSOs ----- Member
11- Representative of House of Representatives ----- Member
12- One Member from state assembly - Member
13- Chairman ALGON ----- Member
14- Permanent Secretary Local Government and chieftaincy affairs---- Member
15- Representative of NCWS -- Member
16- Representative of Youth Group Nig Society

The committee has the following as its terms of reference :-
(a) carry out need assessment of intervention
(b) identification of vulnerable persons
(c) Identification of types of intervention and ;
(d) Development of machanism to ensure that intervention reaches the terget persons.
In its inaurgural meeting,the committee resolved to flag- off the distribution this week targeting over 80, 000 Households with over 400, 000 individuals.
This includes vulnerable persons, living with disability, civil servants, students,the elderly and women headed households.
The distribution will cut across over 14,000 Communities in the state through the stakeholders, religious leaders, traditional rulers and civil society organization CSOs.
