Governor Buni Sworn-in 9 Permanent Secretaries

Governor Mai Mala Buni, of Yobe State has sworn in 9 Permanent Secretaries in line with the provision of chapter 6, part 2 section 208 of the 1999 Nigerian constitution as amended

which requires the state governor to appoint permanent secretaries to the state civil service.

Governor Buni said “In accordance with the policies and programme of the administration our mission in the state is to ensure the entrenchment of the purpose of the government to provide purposeful development and security across the state.

“There’s no better way of achieving that goal than selecting the most tactical minds to conduct the public service.

He further said, Your ascension to this office is purely based on merit, competence and capacity. You are therefore expected to add value from your wealth of experience to the Civil Service for government to achieve its set goals, and to efficiently and effectively deliver the required services to our people" he added

He directed the Office of the Head of Service and the new Permanent Secretaries to promote schedules of responsibilities, giving every worker a duty to justify their employment and the resources expended as wages on civil servants,This will give the workers a sense of belonging to involvement, and check cases of idleness and absenteeism to promote vibrancy and productivity.

He also charged the new permanent secretaries on due process and transparency in conducting government business

and must follow the normal procedure to channels a proper documentation.

While speaking on the public service rules, the governor said all government vehicles and facilities to personal use and services at the expense of government work was banned.

According to him, all government vehicles should be strictly used for government assignments not for personal use.

Those newly appointed permanent secretaries appointed and sworn-in by governor Buni are:

Yusuf Hassan Yusuf Ministry for

Religion Affairs.

Abdulmumini Mamman

Service welfare office, Governor,s office.

Umar Aji Suleiman Ministry for

Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs.

Tshoho Rabiu Garba Ministry of

Housing and urban Development,

Zainab Mohammed Ago, Ministry of women affairs.

Bukar aji Bukar, Ministry of finance and Economic Development,
