BUNI SWORN IN BABA MALAM WALI AS YOBE SSG

The Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni today has sworn in Alhaji Baba Malam Wali Mni, as the Secretary to the State Government for the third time.


Baba Malam Wali was appointed as Yobe SSG on 13th July 2015 by the former Governor and Minister of Police Affairs Ibrahim Geidam.


He was reappointed on 30 December 2019 when Buni became the governor of the state a position held till 2023.


In a press statement, signed by the governor’s spokesman, Alhaji Mohammed Mohammed, confirming the swearing-in, Ceremony today in Damaturu the state capital.



He said the reappointment of Baba Malam Wali as the  Secretary to the State Government was purely based on his track records, Commitment, Dedication, and loyalty. 



He said his appointment is in confirmation with the provisions of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.


''As you are aware, the office of the Secretary to the State Government, serves as the nerve center of the administration.


''Therefore, as you occupy this office, you have the requisite experience to support the government to serve the people effectively and efficiently'' Buni said 


Governor Buni appointed Wali as the Secretary to the State Government in 2019, and now, reappointed him for a second term after finding him worthy of providing the necessary skills for this administration to achieve the objectives of good governance, enhanced service delivery, transparency, and accountability.


Buni further said As his Chief Adviser, he has exhibited excellent administrative skills in the coordination and implementation of government policies and programs, improved working synergy among Ministries, Departments, and Agencies; the three arms of government, sister State governments, the federal government, and development partners.


''I do not doubt that Baba Malam Wali's sense of commitment to duty, patriotism, loyalty, and proactive approach to service. I, therefore,  implore you to redouble your efforts to support the government to achieve its set target of improved service delivery to the people'' Buni added 


Governor Buni charged the New Secretary to the State Government to commit his wealth of experience to employ cost-effective measures for the government to save costs and channel more resources into people-oriented projects and programs that would add value to the lives of all Yobeans. 


He enjoined the new Secretary to the State Government to champion the delegation of duty and responsibilities to all officers under the supervision of their superiors to groom more competent officers as others go on retirement.

 

According to him, by doing so, the state would harvest more proficient officers trained by your rich wealth of experience and knowledge.


He was convinced that the principle of division of labor and shared responsibilities would enhance efficiency and speed, and check unnecessary administrative bottlenecks that slow down government businesses.


Buni also congratulates you for yet another opportunity to serve the state in this exalted position and looks forward to your increased commitment to service.
