YOBE:NUJ INAUGURATES NEW OFFICIALS

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Yobe State Chapter has today sworn-in the council's executives, to run the affairs of the union for the next three years. 


The swearing-in ceremony took place at the NUJ secretariat along Gashu'a road, Damaturu.


Speaking at the event the chairman electoral committee, Ahmed I Abba stated that all the EXCOs were with no opposition, as they were the only ones who bought the form. 

Abba said each of them got 230 votes by the members of the council.


He further said that the office of the Financial Secretary is still vacant, no body buy the form therefore election should be conducted after the swearing-in of the newly inaugurated EXCOs.


In his acceptance speech he appreciate the Executive Governor of Yobe State Hon.Mai Mala Buni CON for the continuous support he,s given to journalists and media organizations in yobe state, we say thank you sir.


The New  Nujj Chairman comr. Rajab has noted that,over time the council has enjoyed support from the Director General Press and Media Affairs, to the Governor Mamman Mohammed, the  Commissioner Ministry of Home Affairs Information and Culture, Alh.Abdullahi  Bego and all the Security agencies,MDAs, Boards and Parastatals,the citizens as well as traditional institutions for the guidance and counselling, stressed that,this has aided their operations in the state.


"To my dear colleagues,I appeal to you to sustain the tempo of hard-working, transparency and accountability, fairness,objectively 

and truthfulness.


"As mirrors of the society,we're expected to set good examples in character and integrity.The NUJ Yobe Council will no longer tolerate acts of laziness,blackmail, partisan politics and corruption. 


"Anyone found exhibiting unwanted behaviours would be dealt with in accordance with the constitution of the NUJ.



"We assure our dear citizens that we will continue to enlighten,educates and entertains them as well as offer our contribution to the promotion 


 of peace and unity in Yobe State", Comrade Rajab further revealed.
