President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commended Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni for a successful and hitch-free hosting of the annual National Qur’anic recitation competition which was officially closed on Saturday.
the commendation was delivered by the APC National Chairman of all progressive Congress Abdullahi Umar-Ganduje,who represented him at the closing ceremony of the competition held in Damaturu.
He urged the Muslims Ummah for
the establishment of Qu’ranic laboratory to enhance reading of the Holy Quran in all the 36 state and Abuja and also use the opportunity to call on all Muslims to continue established more and more Qur’anic schools in the country.
He further said Qu’ran is the solution to our problems.
The President described the action of the Governor as indication of his zeal towards helping the society re-discover itself on self righteousness and acceptable co-existence as ordained by God.
In his Remarks Governor Buni thanked God for the successful hosting of the event and described it as a milestone in the efforts at improving peace and tranquility in the state and its neighbouring environs.
Buni Donated 18- seater bus to Usman Danfodio centre and two Hajj seats to the winners.
He also charged the gathering to pray for peace for the country and pray for the president Bola Tinubu to succeed and the president succeed is a success to all Nigerians,Buni said.
Buni thanked the Center for Islamic Studies of the Usmanu Dan Fodio University Sokoto for granting the hosting right of this year’s event to the state.
He also commended the conduct of the participants and called on them to thank God for whatever result they got from the competition,is a win win.
He promised to continue supporting the good teachings of Islam in order to improve the morality of the people to lead a meaningful life.
The overall winner for this year’s senior category competition on the male side Ibrahim Mohammad Nasir from Bauchi state while the female side was won by Zainab Mohammed from kano State.
The Director,Centre for Islamic Studies,Usman Danfodio University Sokoto(UDUS),prof Abubakar Yalwa announced the result at the end of the one-week competition.
