Governor of yobe state Mai Mala Buni has assured the commitment of his administration to assist victims of Damaturu GSM Shop fire incident which occurred about 4:00 Am last night.
The Governor gave the assurance when he visited the scenes of the fire incident at GSM Market abasha ward of Damaturu local government.
Governor Buni Directed State Emergency Management Agency SEMA and the Ministry of Humanitarian and Disaster management to access the level of Damage for possible interventions by the yobe state government.
Governor Mala Buni described the fire incident as an act of Almighty Allah.
He also sympathize with the victims of the fire incident and prayed for the intervention of future occurrence of the incident.
The Governor donated the sum of one hundred million naira to the victims of the fire incident and assured the readiness of his administration to continued to support the Harmonized Traders Association in the state.
Earlier, briefing the Governor, the executive secretary SEMA Muhammad Goje Said the incident occurred at around four o'clock in the morning and over thirty three shop were razed down to ashes.
According to the ES over one hundred and fifty seven million naira was lost as a result of the fire incident.
In his remarks the state chairman of the GSM traders Association Malami Muhammad expressed his appreciation to Governor Mai Mala Buni and his entourage for the prompt response.
He commended Governor Buni for the gesture and assured the readiness of Association to continue support the laudable policies and programmes of the state government .
He used the medium and assured the governor for their support to the senatorial candidate Hon. Musa Mustapha at the forthcoming Yobe east senatorial bye election.
