Gov.Buni Pardons 33 Inmates in Yobe State

The Yobe State Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON has pardoned 33 inmates at different correctional centers in the state as part of the activities making this year’s Ramadan fast.


The inmates were pardoned by the governor based on the advice of the Yobe State Advisory Council on the Prerogative of Mercy led by the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Saleh Samanja 

The advisory council has before the release of the inmates visited Potiskum, Nguru and Gashu'a Correctional Services for the pardoning.


The Attorney General said they visited all the correctional facilities in the state, with a view to finding out those who deserve to enjoy the Executive pardone.


After careful deliberations, the advisory council come up with 33-man list of Inmates for consideration by Hon. Mai Mala Buni,the Executive  of Yobe State,  whom he graciously accepted and approved their release for them to enjoy the freedom through the executive order vested on His Excellency.


On the eve of Ramadan, Governor Mai Mala Buni has  approved the release of food Palliatives to all the correctional facilities across the state for  inmates to enjoyed the bounty of the Ramadan season.
