Nigerian Army Seeks Closer Relationship with NUJ in a Fight Against Insurgency In The North East

The Sector Two Commander Joint Task Force,JTC North East Operation Hadin Kai Brigadier 
General.Marcel Ejike Collaboration between Nigerian Army and the Media will play a crucial role in the fight against  Insurgency in the North east Ejike said.

Gen.Ejike made the call  During a Farmilarazation visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in Damaturu at the NUJ Secretariat. 

He stressed the need for constant interaction between the Military and the Media 
For Better understanding and synergy and 
explained the purpose of his visit was to get familiar with the members of the NUJ and to also strengthen the cordial working relationship existing between the two organizations.
He urges all the working Journalists in Yobe State to give maximum support to the command as they did during his predecessor.
“My predecessor briefed me on how you are being cooperative with him in order to ensure that Yobe State is being secured, I also want to ask you to pass the same assistance you have rendered him is a team for all of us to ensure that Yobe people are secured”, Gen Ejike added.

He Charged the Members of the NUJ/Media to Continue to be our partners in the Fight against Insurgency by Deploying your professional skills and Conpetencies in support of òur operation for the good of our Nigeria.

Responding on Behalf of the Excos and Members, the NUJ Chairman Comr.Rajab M.Ismail,Lauded the Sector Commander for the interaction which he said would boost the existing Relationship between the Media and Army. 

He Assured the military of Media support at all times in its efforts to Restore peace and Security in the Northeast and the country at large.
