Borno Acting Governor Expresses Sympathy, Supports Victims of Gwoza Bomb Blast

The Borno State Acting Governor, Umar Usman Kadafur along with distinguished Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, visited the victims of a recent devastating bomb blast that occurred in Gwoza town.

Kadafur was also accompanied by Member of the House of Representatives for Gwoza, Chibok, and Damboa, Secretary to the Borno State Government SSG, Commissioners and the Member of the Borno State House of Assembly for Gwoza Local  Government. 

The tragic incident had left several individuals injured, and the acting governor's presence was a testament to the state government's unwavering commitment to supporting the affected community.

During the visit to the State Specialist Hospital, Kadafur expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the victims and their families. He highlighted that the state government has already taken the necessary steps to settle the medical bills of the injured, ensuring they receive the best possible medical attention.

"We are here to show our support and to check on the well-being of the victims," the acting governor said. "The government is committed to providing all the necessary assistance to help them recover and get back on their feet."

Kadafur denounced the unfortunate incident, describing it as an act of God, and offered prayers for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives. He also appealed to the people to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the security personnel, emphasizing the importance of collective vigilance in the fight against terrorism.

The acting governor and his delegation later visited the homes of the families who had lost their loved ones, offering prayers and words of comfort during this difficult time.

According to the hospital report, out of the 42 victims admitted, 2 had tragically passed away, 16 were discharged, and 24 are currently responding positively to treatment.
