Gov. Buni Attends Burial Of 34 Corpses killed by Boko Haram in Mafa

Boko Haram terrorists attacked Mafa village in Babangida Tarmuwa local government of Yobe state is  on Sunday, 1st September 2024.

The elements surrounded the village and Killed 34 people. 

In addition to the killings, the suspects looted food items and other valuables after destroying many houses. 

According to a security report, the unknown Gunmen stormed the village in the evening.

The corps of the 34 victims were conveyed to Babangida headquarters of Tarmuwa local government of Yobe State for mass burial.

The funeral prayer took place at the palace of the Emir of Jajere, led by the chief imam of Yobe mosque and Islamic Center, Ustas Hudu Mohammed Yusuf.

The funeral prayer was attended by Governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by his Deputy, Idi Barde Guban who extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Yobe state to the Emir of Jajere and families of the deceased.

During the incident, Governor Buni was in Abuja and is currently attending a meeting with the chief of defense staff to review the security Architecture of the state.

The Deputy Governor further donated the sum of 30 million Naira to the family of the Deceased and injured persons.

He also Directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) officials to provide food and not food  to the victims.

He described the actions of insurgents as callous and barbaric, which no right-thinking Human being would carry out.

Adding that people should continue to pray for peace in the area and the entire state.

In his remarks the Emir of Jajere Alhaji Mai Hamza Buba Mashio expressed gratitude to the state government for its concern and immediate response.

He further appealed to the state government and well-to-do members of the society to come to the aid of the displaced people of Mafa people, who have now relocated to Babbangida to provide them with shelter and other basic necessities of life.

Special prayers were offered by the chief imam of yobe mosque and Islamic Center, Ustas Hudu Mohammed Yusuf, for Allah to forgive their shortcomings and grant them paradise.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied by the Deputy Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, the leader of the house, a member representing Tarmuwa, Commissioners of Housing,Justice, the Permanent secretary administration and general service, the head of security agencies, special advisers on political, Basic and secondary education as well as security matters and health
other members were DG procurement and permanent secretary CSC Amongst other top government personalities.
