Agile, Hilwa Celebrate Int'l Day For Girl Child in yobe

The Yobe State Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) and High  Level women Advocate (HILWA) have joined the global community in commemorating and celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child. 

The event took place at Njiwaji Primary School Damaturu and was attended by students from across the state.

Mallam Abdullahi Dahiru Bula, AGILE Project Coordinator while speaking emphasized the significance of the day, "the day is crucial for  girls, and we must prioritize their education and empowerment." 

He highlighted the AGILE's objectives of the project is to improving learning outcomes and empowerment opportunities for adolescent girls.

The Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and the chairperson of high level women Advocate (HILWA),Dr.Mairo Ahmed Amshi,
urged students to concentrate on their studies.

Highlights of the event was a Drama presentation by students, Interactive sessions on girls' education, road match from the venue of the event to Damaturu roundabout among others.

Mallam Abdullahi Bula equally called on Hajia Yajalo Badama, Honorable Commissioner of the  Ministry of Women Affairs, represented by Hajia Fatima Abba Jajere, Director of Child Development where the Ministry pledged to support the AGILE's activities.
