NUJ Yobe Converges to End Unprofessional Journalism in the State.

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Yobe State Council has converged to end unprofessional journalism in the State.
The moved was made during a special congress meeting held at the union's secretariat in Damaturu on Monday 11th November, 2024.
Speaking during the meeting, Chairman of the Union, Comr. Rajab Mohammed said it's necessary for the working journalists to always balance their stories with fairness and all sorts of professional ethics of journalism.
He noted that the issue of fake news, hate speeches and unprofessional journalism must be stopped in Yobe with the support of members.
Also speaking, the Director Press of the Government, Mamman Mohammed said it's important for the working journalists to note that projecting the good image of the state will encourage the outsiders to have interest and even to invest in the state.
He noted that the government of Hon. Mai Mala Buni will continue to maintain the good relationships with journalists and to treat them with courtesy mainly to move the state forward.
He noted that journalists are the stakeholders in the peace building and recovery processes in the state.
"We should report positively to attract investors to create employment opportunities and economic growth. Peace and security have returned to Yobe state and should be exploited positively for the benefit of the people". Mamman stated.
Meanwhile, the members of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Yobe State Chapter has assured proper dissemination of information.
