Gov. Buni Assures Army of More Support To End Insurgency

Governor of yobe state Mai Mala Buni has assured the army and other security agencies of continuous support in the fight against insurgency in the state.
He gave the assurance today in Damaturu when the Chief of Army staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, paid him a courtesy call at the Government house, Damaturu.
Gov. Buni commended the military for its commitment to the security now enjoyed across the state.
The 17 local government areas are accessible with the people moving around pursuing legitimate businesses buni said.
He Further said,the security attained across the state affords the government the opportunity to execute its policies and programmes to improve the lives of Yobeans unhindered".
The Governor however called for increased patrol along the borders area to check possible infiltration of insurgents targeting soft and isolated targets.
Earlier, the COAS assured the Governor of the army's commitment to the end insurgency and banditry in the Country.
"lt is my personal ambition to see the end of this menace as fast as possible and call for support from the political leaders and Nigerians to achieve this goal" the COAS said.
He assured to deploy his knowledge and personal experience "when l served here in Yobe state to see the end of insurgency.
Gen.Oluyede commended the Yobe state for its support to the army and called for more support to facilitate the end of insurgency COAS Assured.
