Gov. Buni Declares Open 5 days Capacity workshop For Climate Change Council

Governor, of yobe state Mai Mala Buni CON, has declared open a 5-day capacity building program for the Yobe State Council on Climate Change, Erosion and Restoration technical working committee in Abuja.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali mni, who also chairs the committee, the workshop was organized in collaboration with Milestone Centre. 

The initiative underscores Governor Buni's commitment to addressing climate change, consistently championing policies and initiatives to improve the lives of Yobeans. 

Governor Buni's administration has made significant strides in governance, infrastructure, and social development and Recognize climate change as a pressing challenge, the state government has established YOCCCER, demonstrating its dedication to environmental sustainability.

The technical working team's capacity building program aims to equip members with the necessary skills to execute their mandate effectively and bridge institutional knowledge gaps. 

The proactive Majors showcases Yobe's readiness for climate action and its acknowledgment of capacity building's crucial role in achieving its climate change mitigation plan.

The opening ceremony was attended by notable partners and heads of UN programs, including the DG NESREA, SSA to the President on Climate Finance and Stakeholder Engagement, Australia's 2nd secretary of the high commission, and representatives from the Middle East charity foundation, among others.

They commended Yobe State's bold step, assuring their collaboration and support throughout this journey.
