In an efforts to prepare for the upcoming Agric Show in Yobe State, the State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources convened a stakeholders' meeting in Damaturu.
The meeting, chaired by the Hon. Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Alhaji Ali Mustapha Goniri, was held in the Ministry’s Conference Hall. The Commissioner was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barr. Muhammad Inuwa Gulani.
In his address, the Permanent Secretary emphasized the importance of engaging stakeholders to ensure the success of the Agric Show, which is fast approaching. He urged stakeholders to raise awareness at the ward level to make the event a vibrant and successful one.
Barr. Gulani highlighted Yobe State’s robust agricultural potential, citing its high production of sesame, beans, and millions of heads of small ruminants. He expressed confidence in the state’s readiness to host a remarkable Agric Show.
He also lauded the unwavering commitment and support of the current administration, led by His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni (CON, Chiroman Gujba), towards advancing agriculture in the state.
The Agric Show, he noted, will provide a platform for industries to showcase innovative technologies and agrochemicals to farmers. From land preparation to cultivation, farmers will gain insights into modern techniques to enhance both crop and livestock production.
The meeting was attended by leaders of farmers' and herders' groups, including the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN), and Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, among others. Discussions included suggestions, questions, and answers aimed at ensuring the event’s success.
