Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, has urged the youth to uphold loyalty and focus on acquiring practical job experience as they prepare to take on pivotal roles in the state’s development.
Governor Buni made this appeal during an interactive session held at the Government House Banquet Hall, Damaturu, to mark the sixth anniversary of his eventful administration in the state.
He outlined his administration’s achievements while reiterating a steadfast commitment to youth empowerment, economic growth, and infrastructure development as his tenure progresses.
The event, organized by the Office of the Special Adviser on Television, Radio, and Digital Media, Dr. Ibrahim Yabani, provided an opportunity to reflect on the governor’s scorecard and future initiatives.
“Our focus remains on empowering our youth and ensuring inclusivity in economic opportunities,” Governor Buni remarked.
He highlighted the administration’s success in equipping thousands of young men and women with vocational skills, such as paint production, welding, plumbing, irrigation farming, tailoring, and hairdressing, enabling them to achieve self-reliance.
The Governor noted that many youths have been recruited into the state’s civil service to fill vacancies left by retirees. Others have been appointed to key political positions, including roles as Focal Persons, Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, Liaison Officers, and members of various state boards.
Governor Buni also underscored significant progress in critical sectors such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, agriculture, and security, emphasizing his administration’s holistic approach to governance.
