Yobe Hunters Group,Civilian JTF, Trained on   Landmines Risks Awareness  Campaign,Human Rights

The North East Development Commission (NEDC), in collaboration with Make Safe security safety services limited,
conducted a 2days training workshop on landmines Risk education,human rights and Rule of Engagement.

The 58 participants are from some local government areas in Yobe State and the training workshop which held at Cedars Hall in Damaturu which focused of landmines risks,human rights compliance and Rule of Engagement. 

 
 And appropriate use of force to enhance security operations in the Northeast.

In his opening Remarks the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barr. Sale Samanja, Declared the event open,said that the rules of engagement serve as critical guidelines for securities when applying force.

He commended the NEDC for sponsoring the initiative, noting that it aligns with the state’s efforts to bolster security and promote community trust.

“The training workshop is crucial to strengthening our security framework,”Samanja stated.

 “I urge the participants to utilize the knowledge gained to uphold peace, protect citizens’ rights, and foster harmony across Yobe.”

The Security Adviser to Yobe state Governor,Brig: General Dahiru Abdulsalam( Rtd),
highlighted the program’s focus on educating participants on international humanitarian laws, security protocols, and the legal boundaries of their duties.
He emphasized that the training aimed to prevent misuse of authority while equipping attendees to operate within ethical and legal standards.
“The sessions covered laws of armed conflict, human rights compliance, and the proper escalation of force.

Our vigilantes Group and Civilian JTF can safeguard communities without overstepping their mandates” he said. 

Both officials urged the participants to apply the lessons learnt to improve collaboration with formal security agencies and enhance public safety in the state. 

The NEDC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that address insecurity and promote development in Northeast Region. 

The Chairman House Committee on security and double as the Deputy Speaker House of Assembly Hon.Yau Usman Dachia, Represented by the member Representing Gujba Hon.Bulama Bukar, Commended the consultants, organised and the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for this initiative.
