Gov.Buni Chairs Routine Security Council, Reiterates On Peace and Safety

Governor of Yobe state Mai Mala Buni has on Today 22-july-2025 presided over the routine security council meeting at the Government House Damaturu.
The meeting was held to review the security situation in the state, aimed at reviewing and reinforcing the state security strategy and resolutions.
The meeting  was held at the government House Damaturu, brought together all heads of security agencies operating within the state.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Hon Idi Barde Gubana, noted that the meeting was to review and analyse the security situation across the state and to ensure that citizens in Yobe state are safe and thier property safeguarded. 

The Governor appealed to the vitizens in  the state to continue supporting the security agencies and provide necessary information so as to continue enjoying the relative peace in the state.

He commended the security chiefs for their presence and commitment to the security meeting, this platform according to him allows the government to critically assess the current security situation and adjust strategies to consolidate  progress achieved.
At the end of the meeting, the special adviser on security matters, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam( Rtd) briefed newsmen on the outcome of the meeting 
The meeting resolved to reopen Kukareta  and Katarko Markets 
 Restrictions on feeling stations operations from 6am to 6pm is still in force.
The meeting noted that traders are still hanging around bayan tasha, some not willing to cooperate with Government to move to the new market.

To this regard, the meeting resolved that petty trading at Bayan Tasha is prohibited and traders are directed to  move to the newly contructed modern market Potiskum road Damaturu,  as provision has been made to accommodate all the traders in the new market.
