Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Receives Waste Management Van

Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, on Monday received a new waste management van procured by the institution.

The Van was Received by the Rector of the Polytechnic

Dr.Ibrahim Bello Bashir.

The procurement

Includes not only the van but also trash bins and essential items such as rain boots, which are part of an initiative aimed at enhancing environmental cleanliness and sustainability on campus.

In his remarks, the Rector emphasized that incinerators have also been installed for proper waste disposal. He has assigned the Managing Director of Fedpodam Consult, Dr. Sani Muhammad, to oversee the operations of the new waste management van. Additionally, Dr. Bashir directed that a 3,500-capacity trash bin be placed in the staff quarters and commercial areas to facilitate effective waste collection before it is transported to the incinerators.

The receipt of these important items was witnessed by various members of the management and others, including the Registrar, Muazu Aliyu Iliyasu; Director of Audit, Yunusa Abdullahi; Director of Procurement, Abdullahi Musa; Acting Dean of the School of Health Sciences, Zubairu Abdullahi Suleman; and the Technical Assistant to the Rector, Sabiu Shittu.

This initiative marks a significant step forward in promoting environmental health and sanitation within the institution.
