Yobe Gov't Partner To Address Socio economic, Environmental Challenges

Attended the meeting, are the Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly,Hon.Chiroma mashio represented the Governor Dr. Mai Mala Buni, CON, led the state delegation.
The delegation included the Leader of the House, the Chairman House Committee on Environment, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment, and the State Coordinator of the Yobe Sahara Restoration Drive Project .
Through the Office of the State Project Coordinator, YSRDP, OSS and its partners reaffirmed their mission to support Yobe State in combating desertification, promoting climate-smart agriculture, improving water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and advancing livelihood initiatives.
This partnership comes at a critical time, as the state continues to face challenges of environmental degradation and socio-economic pressures.
In his remarks, the Speaker emphasized the need for stronger resilience initiatives, afforestation programs, and reintegration efforts to address both environmental and socio-economic issues. He also presented working documents on the YSRDP to the partners, paving the way for open discussions and knowledge-sharing.
The OSS delegation, led by Executive Director Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra, alongside Head of Mission Mr. Robert and other team members, expressed their full commitment to providing financial and technical support.
They also highlighted their readiness to collaborate closely with Yobe State to ensure measurable results in the implementation of the program.
The Project Coordinator expressed deep appreciation to the Honorable Speaker and state delegates for their sacrifice and commitment to the mission. Special gratitude was extended to Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra for his kindness and steadfast support.
