Gov. Buni Attend Armed Forces Rememberance Day  Celebration

Governor Mai Mala Buni  today attend the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day ceremony held at the event Centre Government house Damaturu. 

The solemn event commemorates the courage and sacrifices of Nigeria's fallen heroes who gave their lives in service to the nation.

Also in attendance were the Deputy Governor Idi Barde Gubana,Speaker Hon. Chiroma Buba Represented, Chief Judge Gumna Kashim Kaigama,Emir of Fika,
Members of the Executive Council, Members of house of Assembly and other top government officials.

A symbolic release of white pigeons highlighted a collective hope for lasting peace a particularly resonant gesture in the Northeast, a region long impacted by insurgency.

In his address, Governor Buni reflected on the state’s journey from violence to stability and if you could Remember
"Yobe was the second epicenter of the Boko Haram insurgency.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to security and called for continued public support and collaboration in interllegence gathering to the security. 

He further said "Security is everybody’s business and security along cannot solve the security issues and
Sustained peace requires every citizen to share information and support all the security agencies He added.

The Chairman of the Legion, yobe state chapter, 
Lt. Goji Birma, Speaking at the event,praised the yobe state government
For support for veterans and families. 

"Government intervention has been perfect and
We are grateful for the administration’s partnership and that of philanthropic organizations,"he said.

Birma, however, identified funding as a persistent challenge, noting that the legion relies primarily on annual emblem sales and donations by some philontrophis.
