Gov. Buni Mourns Goni Ibrahim Goni Daudu

Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni CON, today attended the funeral prayer for Goni Ibrahim Ibn Goni Daudu, the Chief Imam of Usman bin Affan Jumma'at mosque, GRA, Damaturu.
Gov. Buni was accompanied by the Speaker Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio, Senator representing Yobe East, Sen. Musa Mustapha, Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, State Legislators, commissioners, APC state Chairman , Alh. Mohammed Gadaka, party officials and other top government functionaries.
He described the late cleric as a humble, gentle and knowledgeable teacher who dedicated his time and energy to the memorization and teaching of the holy Quran.
"We mourn late Goni Ibrahim, an excellent scholar who contributed significantly to the teaching of the holy Quran, his vast knowledge would surely be missed but, this is his appointed time" the Gov. said.
Other dignitaries at the funeral prayer include the Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji Shehu Hashimi Ibn Umar Al-Amin Elkanemi, members of the Damaturu Emirate council, and Islamic clerics among others.
Late Goni Ibrahim died in Abuja hospital yesterday after a protracted illness.
Gov. Buni prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased cleric in Aljannat Firdaus, and also prayed to Allah to grant the family, Damaturu Emirate council and the Muslim Ummah the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
