Gov. Buni Receives Policy Document On Climate change

Mai Mala Buni has today Receives committee of policy Document on climate change and assured the
committed of
his administration to tackle environmental challenges confronting the state.
The governor stated this today while receiving the state policy document on climate change at the government house, Damaturu.
He said the government accorded priority to flood, erosion control and desert encroachment among others to tackle the challenges of climate change in the state.
The Commissioner for Environment and Chairman ACReSAL steering committee, Alhaji Sidi Yakubu Karasuwa, while presenting the document to Gov. Buni said the document would serve as a guide to handling the effects of climate change in the state.
The Secretary to the state Government and chairman of the policy document committee, Baba Malam Wali, represented by the Director -General YOGIS, Dr Hassan Gana, commended Gov. Buni for adopting policies, programmes and projects aimed at mitigating environmental challenges across the state.
