The State Government has commenced the distribution of 3,500 laptops to civil servants across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) under a loan-based scheme aimed at enhancing productivity and promoting digital transformation in the public service.
Speaking during the official flag-off ceremony, the Head of Service Abdullahi Musa Shehu described the initiative as a significant milestone in the government's efforts to build a modern, efficient, and technology driven workforce.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary Service welfare Shuaibu Ibrahim Amshi noted that access to digital tools is essential for improving service delivery, strengthening communication, and enabling civil servants to perform their duties more effectively in today's rapidly evolving digital environment.
The Head of Service explained that the loan-based arrangement was designed to ensure wider access to the laptops while encouraging accountability and responsible use of government resources.
According to him, the programme goes beyond the distribution of equipment, representing a strategic investment in human capital and a commitment to empowering civil servants with the skills and tools needed to meet the demands of modern governance.
He expressed appreciation to His Excellency Hon. Dr. Mai Mala Buni and all stakeholders whose support made the initiative possible and congratulated the beneficiaries for being part of the transformative programme.
The ceremony concluded with the formal commencement of the distribution of the 3,500 laptops, marking another step towards a more responsive, transparent, and digitally enabled public service.
