Yobe Assembly Committee on Works Conducts Oversight On Major Infrastructure Projects

The Yobe State House of Assembly Committee on Works has embarked on its statutory oversight function with an inspection tour of major ongoing and completed infrastructure projects across the state.

The Chairman House Committee on Works, Hon. Adamu Dala Dogo led members of the committee on the visit to assess the quality, progress, and implementation of the projects firsthand.

The 
 Commissioner for Works, Engr. Umar Wakili, represented the Yobe State Government and led the delegation during the inspection exercise. He commended the quality of work being executed and reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Hon Mai Mala Bunis administration to delivering durable and people oriented infrastructure across the state.

Among the projects inspected were the ongoing 6.6 kilometres road expansion and development of working spaces within Damaturu State capital, the construction of the flyover and underpass projects, the Ngelzarma and Mashio Road Project, which has been completed 100 percent and officially handed over to the Yobe State Government, as well as the Damagum to Gubana 10 kilometre asphalt road project.

The committee was informed that the Damagum to Gubana road project site has been handed over to the contractor, EEC, to complete the remaining works, with assurances that the project will be delivered within the next two months.

Speaking during the visit, members of the House Committee expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work and pledged to revisit the project sites within one month to monitor progress and ensure that contractors adhere strictly to agreed timelines and specifications.
